Paws Up! Petsitting is a queer owned & operated business. We believe that taking care of our community is the most important thing–that’s why we accept barter & trade, our prices are flexible for low-income households, and we will work with you to ensure your pets are loved & well-cared-for in your absence.

So glad you asked! (Click to expand!)
First, there’s a consult.
Our consults are always free! They give us a chance to meet you & your pet(s), so you can decide if you’re comfortable with us and we can decide if we’re comfortable with you. This is also an opportunity for us to learn, in-person, about your pet’s routine.
Next, we get you to fill out our new client intake form, if you haven’t already!
The form is located right here if you’d like to get a head start! This is mostly kept as a reference sheet for your sitter, and includes important information such as emergency contacts and allergies, as well as getting consent (or not) to feed treats we carry ourselves (check out our supplies on the Snacks & Gear page). You will receive an e-mail upon completion, which contains a link you can use to edit the form as needed in the future. Neat, huh?
Then, we’ll get you Officially Booked.
At this time (January 2025) we do not require deposits, though that may change in the future. Once you’re booked with your sitter, you’re all set.
Once it’s almost time for your sit, we’ll text you to confirm it’s still on.
Of course, we would prefer to know as soon as possible if your plans change, so we can free up the space on our calendar too. At this time (January 2025) there is no fee for cancellation, though that may change in the future.
This is also our opportunity to catch up & solidify any plans, like key exchange or if something’s changed with your pet.
The dates you booked are upon us!
Your sitter will arrive at an agreed-upon time, and will text you an update with pictures of your pets. After that, we’ll be in touch throughout the sit with pics and updates about our day, unless you’d prefer to keep the messages to a minimum!
We will try to keep as close to your pet’s routine as we can–familiarity is comfort. Feeding and walking schedules will be adhered to, to the best of our ability. Some sitters have jobs or obligations that will mean your pet might still be by themselves in the home for hours at a time, in which case we can arrange for someone to check in for a midday walk or play time.
Generally speaking, we are flexible and will do what we can to make sure you and your pet(s) are happy and can rest assured.
